PLENTIST is an English-language health and fitness publication. We write practical guides to the everyday decisions people make about their own health: how to move, what to eat, whether to take something, and how to rest.
Our aim is simple. Each guide should help you decide what is worth doing, and it should be clear about how strong the evidence behind that advice really is.
What you’ll find here
PLENTIST is organised into four sections:
- Fitness: strength training, walking and running, mobility and recovery, for real schedules and any starting point.
- Nutrition: everyday eating, balanced meals, protein, hydration and the ingredients worth keeping in your kitchen.
- Supplements: vitamins, minerals, protein powders and botanicals. We cover what they are, what the research supports, where it is thin, and who should check with a professional first.
- Wellness: sleep, stress, rest and the small daily routines that hold everything else together.
Who it’s for
PLENTIST is written for ordinary adults who want to look after their health without hype, guilt or jargon. You don’t need a gym membership, a specialist diet or a science background to use it.
PLENTIST is not a medical service. It is general information for adults, not individual advice, and it is not written for children. If you have a health condition, take medication or are pregnant, the guidance on this site is a starting point for a conversation with a qualified professional, not a replacement for one. Our health disclaimer explains this in more detail.
How we approach a subject
- Practical first. A guide should leave you with something you can actually try or decide this week.
- Honest about the evidence. Health research ranges from large, well-run trials to small, short or early studies. We try to say which kind sits behind a claim, and we use different words for stronger and weaker evidence.
- Benefits come with limits. When we describe what something may do, we also say what isn’t known, what the risks are and who should be careful.
- No miracle claims. We don’t describe any food, supplement, workout or routine as a cure, and we say so when something is overhyped.
- Plain language. Technical terms are explained when they are used.
The detail is set out in our editorial policy and our sources and evidence policy.
What PLENTIST is not
PLENTIST does not diagnose conditions, recommend treatments, or replace a doctor, pharmacist, dietitian, physiotherapist or other qualified professional. We do not sell supplements or other products.
Our articles are not currently reviewed by medical professionals. If that changes, we will name the reviewer on the article and say what they reviewed.
Who is behind PLENTIST
Articles published by the publication itself carry the byline “PLENTIST Editorial”. It stands for PLENTIST, not for an individual or a fictional person. Real contributors are named only when they actually write or substantially revise an article. Our editorial policy explains how authorship and review work.
To be confirmed The name of the person or organisation that publishes PLENTIST, and the editor accountable for its content, will be added here before launch.
